UPSURGE Survey: what are the challenges and needs of your city to achieve climate neutrality, air quality and biodiversity goals?

Calling all European cities and municipalities! The EU-funded project UPSURGE is developing the European Regenerative Urban Lighthouse Framework, a consultancy platform to support cities in the effective deployment of Nature-based Solutions (NbS).

As cities expand, integrating Nature-based Solutions (NBS) into urban development faces challenges such as limited space, financial constraints, and a knowledge gap among planners. Regulatory frameworks often lag, and cross-sectoral collaboration is difficult, hindering the full potential of NbS despite its benefits in mitigating environmental and health issues. The European Regenerative Urban Lighthouse will meet these challengues, aiming to guide cities in effectively deploying NbS. Platform users will benefit from a resource hub, a marketplace, capacity-building and tailored consultancy services related to the development and implementation of innovative NbS for carbon neutral cities, improved air quality and biodiversity protection.

We are grateful to receive the feedback from European cities and municipalities about the challenges they are facing when developing and implementing climate and biodiversity actions. The results will be used to build the specific services the EU Regenerative Urban Lighthouse Framework’s will provide to all kinds of cities and municipalities.

Please lend your support to our short survey (5 to 10 minutes) to build cities that are healthier for people and nature. The deadline to submit your responses will be on the 8th of November, Friday.
