The Global Program on Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) for Climate Resilience is a cross-sectoral effort at the World Bank Group with a mission to increase investments in solutions that integrate and strengthen natural systems across regions and sectors. The program involves many World Bank Global Practices:
- Urban, Disaster Risk Management, Resilience, and Land
- Water
- Environment, Natural Resources, and the Blue Economy
The program received financing from the Global Facility for Disaster Risk Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) and support from the Global Water Security and Sanitation Partnership (GWSP).
To achieve its mission, the program supports World Bank teams and their governmental counterparts at the national and city levels in identifying, preparing, and implementing NbS for climate resilience. Interventions can be stand-alone or integrated into wider investments or policy and/or analytical engagements.
