This report provides information on recommendations to address NBS barriers and help scale up the market in Canada. These recommendations include: showing global leadership in terms of aligning resource-based sectors towards the low-carbon transition; documenting additionality by setting trackable climate targets and benchmarks towards this transition; looking more at adaptation projects and nature-based solutions when issuing green bonds; creating more meaningful performance indicators by using scientifically-backed measurement tools; and finally, helping provide liquidity to the market by issuing sovereign green bonds and other forms of government involvement, guaranteeing that green bonds are a means to achieve the transition to a low-carbon economy.
