The NAIAD project focused on NBS that are used for water-related projects, especially related to disaster risk management (DRM) and/or climate adaptation.
This report highlights what has been done in the NAIAD project to address, innovate and learn to overcome challenges to the financing and implementation of NBS projects. This report provides insights gained from demonstration projects to show factors the enable or dissuade uptake of NBS. It will also look from the insurer’s perspective on the challenge, drawing experience from NAIAD on how insurance schemes both impact and can support NBS and DRR in Europe.
