Description:
This document provides an overview of current efforts for a circular water economy in Europe, including demonstration cases and policy initiatives. It also describes barriers to adoption of nature-based wastewater treatment for resource recoveries as experienced by practitioners, as well as strategies to overcome them. Current efforts are provided in an evidence matrix, as well as barriers and mitigation strategies are translated into a policy brief included in this document.
