VARCITIES

VARCITIES was a project focused on putting citizens and “human communities” at the centre of future cities’ vision. VARCITIES’ vision was to establish sustainable models that improvde the health and well-being of diverse groups of people in Europe, while embracing digital, social, and cultural perspectives. The project emphasized creating people-centered public spaces that foster creativity, inclusivity, and happiness through the development of 29 Visionary Solutions across 7 Pilot Cities, several of which are nature-based solutions.

Led by the Telecommunication System Institute (TSI) at Technical University of Crete, and involving 25 partners, VARCITIES began in September 2020 until February 2025.
