The common challenge of the Danube area we are jointly tackling in our project is maintaining and promoting of natural and cultural heritage, the protection of biodiversity, environmental awareness raising, assuring the conditions for common water and risk management and renovation of cultural heritage site, contribution to the smart, sustainable and inclusive growth of the surroundings of Komárno/Győr/Tata, Danubian protected areas – on 121 339 ha.

The NATUREPARK is a unique natural landscape with high cultural value, landscape-level cooperation with the aim to preserve, present and promote rural development through the utilization of natural and cultural heritage actively involving the local communities. It is built on the principle that the INTEGRATED PROTECTION OF THE LANDSCAPE AND NATURE SHOULD NOT BE ORIENTED AGAINST THE ACTIVITIES OF MAN LIVING IN AREA, BUT PROTECTED IN COOPERATION WITH THEM! The overall objective of our project is to cooperate on both sides of the river Danube and maintain their ecological character, achieved through the implementation of ecosystem approaches, within the context of sustainable development. Slovak side will learn it from Hungarian.

The expected change our project will make to the current situation is in line with 4 pillars of Naturepark model. The main outputs we will produce are 4000 new native trees, bushes, cleaned canals and marshes by amphibious machines, insect hotels placed in nature, bird houses, cameras, observatories for monitoring birds, authentic water wells placed in nature, informative and recreational elements of small infrastructure for birds of prey and humans, built educational nature trails, built infrastructure for two eco-educational and 1 fishing tourist center, public education and Taste of Danubian Nature Fest. The beneficiaries are stakeholders, inhabitants, 2500 volunteers, tourists and wide public in cross–border region.Measures to preserve and improve the environment in the Danube region will be performed in villages from Číčov to Komárno and from Gönyű to Tatabánya. The native species of trees and bushes including fruit trees (4000) and grass will be planted on municipal land and educational nature trails in order to preserve habitats. Insect hotels and bird houses, replicas of the original authentic water well will be placed to create suitable conditions for birds. Towers for birdwatching will be placed in nature as well. Entrance Gate to Naturpark GERECSE will be built, 9 educational nature trails will be completed, camera systems to monitor wild geese presented during the annual activities organized by the Tata (HU) wild goose festival "Vadlúd sokadalom", other small-scale infrastruction will be placed.

Enviroactivities of BROZ the projects LIFE + and of EnviroCentre Dropie will be complemented by development of an OPEN AIR CLASSROOOM in DROPIE and activities in Veľký Lél. A 247 years old country house in Zlatná na Ostrove will be renovated. Nature of the Danube region, environmental activities as well as the history, tradition and culture of the region will be presented here. Fishing TOURIST Center will be renovated in village Gönyű. 1st Taste of Danubean Nature Fest will be organised. 2 ships will be purchased to make the Danube-crossing between Klížka Nemá, Zlatná na Ostrove – and Gönyű, Komárom possible. Ship trips from Danube to Mosoni Duna and Malý Dunaj, Rába will be organised. Amphibious maschine will work 3680 hours in the SK region. Media appearance will be huge – new FB profile, improved application HUSK Danube, project videos will be created, promotion material, expert workshops will be organised.

Project will contribute to creation of HUSK Danube Destination process, its preparation and promotion. COMPLEX TOURIST packages will be developed in the Marketing study with Action plan.
