The objective of the project is the improvement of cross- border sustainable development through finding solutions for the rehabilitation of natural environment in Rosiori – Pocsaj cross-border area, protecting biodiversity on the Ier Valley from Rosiori to Pocsaj, lowering the risk of extinction of rare flora and fauna in swampy areas and lowering the expansion of salted lands and the increasing incidence of drought threatening biodiversity.

The studies and plans on the restoration of natural habitats will create a future possibility for these humid places to be declared areas of major biological importance as natural reservations with a high touristic potential whose impact will generate a unitary development of the micro-region.

The target groups of the project are the 2 local governments of Rosiori and Pocsaj. They will use the fesability studiesin order to implement an investment project for the rehabilitation of wetlands; 14 environmental NGOs (5 from Bihor County and 9 from Hajdu - Bihar County) and environmental public institutions, such as the National Environmental Protection Agency - territorial body from Bihor and the correspondent body from Hajdu - Bihar; • 10 universities (6 in Bihor County and 4 in Hajdu - Bihar County) or other institutions of environmental protection, which can use these studies for some initiatives and actions for the restoration of entire Ier Valley, as the studies and plans will be made public (on the Web-site of the project); local population of Pocsaj and Rosiori, 5864 persons (2770 residents in Pocsaj and 3094 inhabitants in Rosiori); tourists visiting the target area, due to cross-border tourism development and joint promotion of local tourist attractions and services; local SMEs of the target area (Pocsaj and Rosiori).
