As MaCoBioS is entering its final stage, we are organising the “Blue Nature-based Solutions Week” at the UNESCO House in Paris from November 5th to November 8th. The event will highlight the work of scientists in collaboration with stakeholders and maximise the results of MaCoBioS and other like-minded initiatives. As we approach the Third UN Ocean Conference in June 2025, this event is crucial for maintaining momentum in international ocean governance.
In the context of the UN Decades (2021-2030) of Ocean Sciences for Sustainable Development, and of Ecosystem Restoration; the 2030 CBD & IUCN objectives for marine protection; and the launch of the Year of the Sea in France (starting in September 2024), we will bring together an international community of key players from the scientific, economic and institutional sectors through collaborative sessions designed to bridge the gap between science and policy, ensuring that our collective efforts lead to actionable solutions to protect and restore marine and coastal ecosystems and their biodiversity.
If you are interested in joining us, you will find more information on the event webpage, and you can contact us at blue-nbs-week@macobios.eu
