TERRANOVA invites biodiversity, agriculture and forestry policy experts to discuss challenges and opportunities in the Green Deal targets.

TERRANOVA works towards a better understanding of the natural and social drivers of landscape changes in Europe to guide the transition to a low-carbon society.

This event will focus on exchanging insights with experts in environmental management on how to achieve the objectives of the European Green Deal for nature restoration, biodiversity, forestry, agriculture, and climate targets.

Speakers will have 10-15 minutes for their presentation, followed by an interactive exchange. The main issues that will be addressed include:

  • The 3 billion trees planting target of the Green Deal and its implications for forest restoration and biodiversity
  • The Nature Restoration Law and its potential to contribute jointly to nature restoration and climate change mitigation
  • The implications of the Green Deal and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) to support and strengthen the transition to sustainable agriculture.
