Saturday, 23 October 2021 - 8:00 to 11:00 (Europe/Brussels) (Europe/Brussels)
13800 S Trumbull Ave, Robbins, IL 60472, USA
The under-resourced community of Robbins is located 22 miles south of Chicago's Loop along the Little Calumet River. This majority BIPOC community contains areas with as little as 18% canopy cover, leading to heat islands, elevated flooding risks, and poor air quality for vulnerable residents. The tree canopy in Robbins has also suffered heavy losses due to the invasive Emerald Ash Borer. With your help (and support from the US Forest Service), 43 trees of diverse species will be planted to replace dead and dying ash trees along residential parkways, helping to create habitat for wildlife and shady, attractive neighborhoods for generations to come.
No experience is necessary! Volunteers will help us dig holes, plant trees, mulch, and water.
