In this webinar Andrea Staccione (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) and Alfredo Reder (CMCC) will introduce the NbS and their many contexts of application regarding their ability to work positively in mitigating the effects of climate change and disaster reduction. In addition, the webinar will emphasize the importance of local communities and citizens, whose participation in developing shared knowledge and creating a critical mass in their territories is essential for implementing resilient ecosystems.
The webinar is part of the Naturethon inititative and has been organized as a joint event between NATURANCE and the AGORA project.
NATURANCE is a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme. It will examine technical, financial and operational feasibility and performance of solutions that are built upon and combine disaster risk financing & investments with nature-based solutions.
AGORA is an HORIZON project started in January 2023, coordinated by CMCC. It supports the overall objectives of the Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change by promoting societal transformational processes in different social, economic and political contexts through transdisciplinary tools and approaches. The project promotes an effective engagement of citizens and communities in climate actions, accelerating and upscaling adaptation processes for building a climate resilient Europe.
