COP27 side event: Combatting extreme weather: are Nature-Based Solutions ready to tackle the challenge?

This event is part of the European Union side events at COP27.

Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are prominent in global agendas for climate and biodiversity. NbS interventions to mitigate the impacts of extreme weather events exist, but transforming small-scale interventions to large-scale landscapes remains a challenge. This session will illustrate how the multiple benefits of NbS can be demonstrated at scale using world-wide NbS implementation case studies. It is an opportunity to share findings from a global effort to combat extreme weather through nature.
