Event posted by Kassia Rudd
Wednesday, 24 September 2025 - 16:00 to 17:30 (Europe/Brussels) (Europe/Brussels)
Online

We will dive into how cities around the world are aligning with national environmental plans in order to meet ambitious biodiversity and climate targets and foster community wellbeing. We will invite speakers who can offer insights into such alignment from the perspectives of policy, finance, and stakeholder engagement from Europe and Latin America. Examples will be drawn in particular from EU Climate-neutral Cities Mission and Berlin Urban Nature Pact cities that are leading the way in addressing the transition and integrating climate and biodiversity measures (for example Utrecht, Mannheim, Paris, Cali). Urban Nature Plans will be highlighted as a tool helping cities to plan across a wide range of environmental policies. We will invite Quito, Ecuador to share their work in integrating nature-based solutions across city planning processes. We will close with a ‘futuring’ activity, where participants will reflect on their hopes for the climate agenda 20 years into the future.
