Event Description:
How can innovative financial and insurance mechanisms unlock the full potential of Nature‑Based Solutions (NbS) for climate resilience?
This webinar brings together leading experts from the NATURANCE project to explore how finance, insurance, and policy innovation can support the design, implementation, and scaling of Nature‑Based Solutions. The event focuses on how NbS can be made investment‑ready, financeable, and scalable, bridging the gap between research, real‑world experimentation, and market uptake.
The session will introduce the NATURANCE framework, which examines how insurance, finance, and governance conditions can reduce climate risks while supporting socially equitable and nature‑positive outcomes.
A featured case study from the Wildfire Lab in the Lake Tahoe region (USA) will demonstrate how NbS can be operationalised and linked to concrete financing pathways. The discussion will also draw connections to coastal resilience challenges and transatlantic learning between Europe and North America.
The webinar concludes with a moderated discussion and audience Q&A, highlighting policy recommendations and pathways to scale private and blended finance for NbS.
