This Satellite Event explores how the NEB values - sustainability, inclusion and beauty - are translated into concrete transformation pathways across Europe.
Organised by the International Federation of Landscape Architects - IFLA EUROPE, in collaboration with the Belgian Association of Landscape Architects - BALA, the event highlights EU-funded projects inspired by the NEB and the contribution of landscape architecture and the spatial disciplines in shaping high-quality, climate-resilient and inclusive living environments.
The programme showcases EU-funded initiatives and landscape architectural case studies:
- Bauhaus4MED (Interreg Euro-MED)
- Re-Value Cities (Horizon Europe)
- Commit2Green (Horizon Europe)
- Green Team (Interreg North Sea)
- ‘Paris: A Landscape and Ecological Transition’
- ‘Landscape Architecture to combat Climate Change’
- Roundtable discussion
These projects demonstrate how NEB principles are operationalised through landscape-led regeneration, nature-based solutions, circular urban systems, participatory governance and professional capacity-building across diverse European contexts.
Through focused project presentations, invited contributions from practice and policy, and an interactive panel discussion, the event fosters dialogue between EU institutions, municipalities, researchers and built-environment professionals. By connecting research, policy and professional practice, the event contributes to the NEB Forum pillar and supports the thematic axes of reconnecting with nature, regaining a sense of belonging, and prioritising places and people that need it most.
