On 22 May 2026, I had the opportunity to represent eNaBlS and NetworkNature Task Force 5 on Education at the final online conference of the Erasmus+ Teacher Academies project NBS Academy, “Bridging Practice, Policy, and Research in NBS Education and Teacher Training.” The conference brought together educators, teacher trainers, researchers, policymakers and EU project partners to discuss the future of nature-based solutions (NBS) in education. The programme included sessions on teacher training, research and policy, and the development of NBS education.
I participated in the Synergies session, where I presented the project and participated in a panel discussion alongside representatives of Scientix and LOESS. The panel discussion focused on how synergies can lead to meaningful collaboration rather than remaining token gestures. We discussed how projects working on different aspects of environmental education can be better connected and how common ground can be established for joint actions and strategies. From my perspective, initiatives such as NetworkNature Task Force 5 on Education demonstrate the value of collaboration across projects and stakeholder groups. At the same time, the discussion highlighted the challenges involved in building strong and lasting synergies. These include differences in objectives, timelines and target groups, as well as the need for effective coordination and communication.
