- Testing and demonstrating solutions in the 5 Demonstration Regions and transferring knowledge to 3 Replicating Regions
- Data collection, management, and monitoring, as well as development and evaluation of a portfolio of solutions per region
- Assessing scaling potential and integration of solutions into regional policies
- Exploring investment opportunities and developing innovative financing and business models for large-scale ecosystem restoration
- Analysing governance frameworks and providing recommendations for NbS integration into policy
- Communication and dissemination activities (festivals, competitions, exhibitions, videos, comics) to raise awareness
- Capacity-building actions such as webinars and training activities
Demonstrating Regions (DRs)

- Sardinia (Italy)
- Eastern Macedonia & Thrace (Greece)
- Split-Dalmatia (Croatia)
These regions act as living laboratories, co-designing and deploying innovative, place-based solutions to climate risks such as drought, heat, and ecosystem degradation.
Replicating Regions (RRs)
– where solutions are transferred and adapted:
- Cyprus
- Potenza (Italy)
- Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (France)
These regions build on the experiences of the Demonstrating Regions, adapting tested approaches to their own contexts and ensuring wider Mediterranean uptake.
