Spanish NbS Hub

Outline

The Spanish Hub of UrbanByNature, led by the association Consensus in collaboration with the City of A  Coruña and the University of A Coruña, is a platform dedicated to promoting and disseminating nature-based solutions in Spanish cities. The Hub aims to foster sustainable, resilient, and inclusive urban environments through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation.

 

Objectives

  • Promote the adoption of NBS for urban regeneration and climate adaptation across Spanish cities.
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange, best practices, and innovative approaches between local authorities, academia, and civil society.
  • Integrate NBS into city-wide strategies and policies, contributing to the UN Sustainable Development.
  • Enhance biodiversity, ecosystem services, and citizens’ well-being through urban nature-based interventions.
  • Strengthen local capacity and leadership to implement and upscale NBS projects sustainably.

 

Outputs

  • A site visit to a Nature-based Solution (NBS) project in A Coruña, demonstrating practical implementation and lessons learned.
  • A poster presentation at The Nature of Cities conference in Berlin, 2024, highlighting the activities and impact of the Spanish Hub.
  • Webinars and online events to share knowledge and promote NBS adoption across Spanish cities.
