Resource description:
Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the way research and innovation projects collect, analyse and communicate information. This briefing note, developed by NetworkNature Task Force 1, provides practical guidance to help nature-based solutions (NbS) projects use AI responsibly, ethically and effectively.
Drawing on discussions from the NetworkNature community and the latest European guidance, the document explores the opportunities and risks associated with AI and offers recommendations on governance, transparency, human oversight, data management and stakeholder engagement.
The briefing also includes a simple risk assessment framework, an AI use register and a concise checklist to support day-to-day decision-making.
It is intended for project managers, researchers, communications professionals and anyone interested in ensuring that AI strengthens, rather than replaces, human expertise and collaboration.
