Resource description:
This MERLIN resource examines how to bring freshwater (aquatic) restoration into the mainstream using NbS, working across six economic sectors: agriculture, hydropower, insurance, navigation, peat extraction, and water supply and sanitation. It assesses how far each sector recognises the challenges of degraded freshwater ecosystems and the potential of NbS, the barriers to wider uptake, and the interdependencies, synergies and trade-offs between sectors, and it supports a Community of Practice to advance shared solutions. It is useful for policymakers and sector actors seeking to integrate freshwater restoration into catchment-scale planning.
