Nordlocal is a Nordic initiative supporting cities and municipalities in moving from planning to practical implementation of nature-based solutions.
The project is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers and led by the Tree Office in Sweden together with partners across the Nordic region.
Building on the earlier "Yggdrasil - The Living Nordic City" project, Nordlocal focuses on helping municipalities implement and scale nature-based solutions in practice, while strengthening capacity in both large and small municipalities.
The project will develop practical tools and decision-support resources, establish demonstration environments and local NbS hubs, facilitate exchange through a Nordic knowledge network, and provide targeted support for municipalities with limited resources.
Nordlocal brings together municipalities, researchers and practitioners to strengthen local implementation of nature-based solutions and contribute to Nordic goals related to biodiversity, climate and health.
