Gap description:
1 - Many impactful projects may not fit neatly within traditional NbS definitions but still contribute to sustainability goals. By recognizing and supporting experimental approaches, we can unlock new solutions with lasting environmental and social benefits. (...) the push for rigid or standardized frameworks, often emphasized in NbS research, may inadvertently exclude innovative projects that deliver meaningful change, especially in localized or unique contexts. ... This raises critical questions: Should projects that fail to meet every criterion be excluded from recognition or support? And how do we make sure that projects with similar objectives as NbS but not labelled as such are not overlooked?
2 - Document and analyze locally embedded, small-scale interventions that remain outside formal project reporting but may offer scalable adaptive models.
