Urban Future 2026 is taking place in ICLEI member city Ljubljana, Slovenia at Gospodarsko Razstavišče (GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre) between March 24-27, 2026. The first day is reserved for Field Trips across the city and the next two days will be packed with sessions and workshops.

Make It a Business Case
How to prove resilience's value with evidence and metrics Cities are no longer asking whether resilience matters – the challenge is proving its value. This session shows how cities can build a credible business case by quantifying avoided losses, reduced risks, and measurable benefits from nature-based solutions, energy savings, and food and health impacts. Participants will gain practical ways to communicate the value of resilience

Why Is This Working!
How art steps in where words fail us. Art can explain climate better than a hundred reports and a thousand words. It will save you lot’s of campaign money, too. This session is all about that. We look at how cities use art and playful ideas to get people to notice and care about climate topics. First, creative ideas are pitched to a city – short, bold, and sometimes wild. The audience gets to ask questions and vote. Then, a real local challenge is brought into the room and participants work together to come up with ideas to address it. Expect strange ideas, quick thinking, laughs, and real inspiration on how art can help cities ‚talk‘ about climate when words fall short.
