We are pleased to invite you to participate in the interdisciplinary session “Nature-based Solutions for Climate Change Adaptation” at the EGU 2026 conference, taking place in Vienna from 3 to 8 May 2026. The deadline for online abstract submission is 15 January 2026 (13:00 CET).
This session will focus on how Nature-based Solutions (NbS) can support climate change adaptation across a wide range of ecosystems, including marine and coastal, urban, cropland, mountainous, forest, river, and lake systems. NbS can contribute to adaptation to sea-level rise (flooding and erosion), changes in water regimes (floods, droughts, water quality and availability), rising temperatures (heatwaves, forest fires, droughts, energy demand), as well as plant stress and increased pest pressures (yield variation, forest dieback), while helping to minimise associated social and economic impacts.
More details on the session are available here: https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU26/session/57524
We look forward to meeting you in Vienna.
Kind regards,
Pierre-Antoine Versini (HM&Co-ENPC), Amy Oen (Norwegian Geotechnical Institute), Kristina Potočki (University of Zagreb), Natalia Rodriguez (OFB), Nejc Bezak (University of Ljubljana) and Daniela Rizzi (ICLEI Europe)
