From 10 to 13 February 2026, ILSI Europe represented the BIOFIN-EU project at BIOFACH 2026 in Nuremberg, the world’s leading trade fair for organic food. The presence at BIOFACH 2026 provided high visibility for BIOFIN-EU within the international organic food community and positioned the project within a key global platform for stakeholders across the food value chain. The event brought together a global community of producers, processors, retailers, certification bodies, financial actors, and policymakers, providing a unique platform to explore the intersection of sustainability, biodiversity, and finance in food systems.
At the BIOFIN-EU booth, visitors engaged in lively discussions on how financial mechanisms and policy frameworks can support biodiversity-positive practices within the organic and wider agri-food sectors. The stand highlighted BIOFIN-EU’s objectives, ongoing activities, and expected impacts while gathering valuable insights from industry stakeholders on practical challenges, investment needs, and market realities.
To further increase engagement and project visibility, RAINNO developed an interactive online quiz focused on the themes of the event. The quiz could be accessed directly through a QR code displayed at the booth, offering participants a fun and informative way to connect with BIOFIN-EU and learn more about biodiversity, finance, and sustainable food systems.
Over the four days, the booth facilitated direct interactions with more than 100 industry and business stakeholders, strengthening links between research and practice and fostering potential collaborations. Ellen Jordan from UL also joined the booth, providing expert insights on finance-related aspects of the project and answering technical questions from visitors.
Participation in BIOFACH 2026 marked an important dissemination and networking milestone for BIOFIN-EU, promoting knowledge exchange, stakeholder outreach, and collaboration across the international organic food community.
