Task Force 5 (TF5) – NBS Education, currently led by the eNaBlS project, has published a curated collection of Open Educational Resources (OER) on nature-based solutions (NBS) and biodiversity, together with an Excel table and a offline tool that helps to navigate it.
The collection brings together 97 openly licensed resources that were gathered with the members of TF5 and partner organisations. It covers all levels of education - from early childhood and primary school through secondary, post-secondary and vocational education, higher education, and adult and continuing education, including non-formal settings such as NGOs, museums and citizen science initiatives. The resources are available in 21 languages and include courses, MOOCs, videos, podcasts, toolkits, interactive tools and infographics. They come from established sources such as Scientix, Oppla, OpenLearn, Coursera, national OER repositories, and outputs from the eNaBlS project itself.
For every resource, the Excel table records the type of material, target audience, educational level, learning method, prior knowledge required, learning outcomes, estimated workload, language, publication year, hosting platform, registration requirements and geographic origin. Column filters make it easy to narrow the list down, and a separate sheet explains every column. Each entry links to the original resource, so users always reach the material at its source and under its own licence.
The collection is made for educators and trainers who are looking for ready-to-use teaching material on NBS and biodiversity: school teachers, higher-education lecturers, vocational trainers, and educators in adult education, NGOs, museums or citizen science.
As an add-on, the dataset includes the TF5 Resource Finder: a single, standalone HTML file that works offline in any web browser, without installation or login. After a short questionnaire about educational context, type of material, learning style, available time and language, it suggests a ranked shortlist of matching resources from the collection.
The dataset (Excel table and Resource Finder) is openly available on Zenodo under a CC BY-NC 4.0 licence: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23100995 (published 5 October 2026).
We invite the Network Nature community, and TF5 members in particular, to use the collection and to share it with colleagues who are looking for open teaching material on nature-based solutions.
