On 22nd May, the NbSAcademy project, aiming to integrate NbS into teacher education, held its final conference. The event was an occasion to celebrate the achievements of the project, namely building capacity to embed NbS into teacher learning and education. The project produced a toolkit to ‘train the trainers’,  two educational modules on NbS for teachers (both in initial training and in professional development), and a MOOC for teachers on how to teach NbS.

NetworkNature, represented by Laure-Lou Tremblay (IEEP), was invited to bring in a policy perspective to the topic of education to NbS. Although NbS are increasingly embedded in EU policies, starting with sustainability policies, there are capacity building gap at national, regional and local levels that hinders their uptake. Policymakers, like teachers, also need to be trained on NbS and understand their benefits to integrate them into policy. NetworkNature is currently developing policy support packages that will provide policy makers with tailored and searchable resources, tools and outputs directly relevant to their work.
