What Does Your Community Need Most?
Across the world, the people who shape the future of nature aren’t only politicians.
They are citizens, neighbours, activists, educators, volunteers, and community groups, people like you.
This survey is your chance to tell policymakers what your community really needs.
Today, we launch the Global Survey on Citizen Action for Nature
As part of NetworkNature, a European network advancing nature-based solutions, we are launching a global survey to understand how citizens and civil society groups engage with nature, even if they don’t refer to it as “nature-based solutions.”
Your voice will help co-create the Roadmap for Citizen Action on Nature-based Solutions, an EU-funded effort to understand what communities need to take inclusive, meaningful, and long-term action.
Whether you’re a community leader, activist, educator, volunteer, neighbour, organiser, expert, or simply someone who cares, there is a place for you in this survey.
Our vision
A Citizen Action Roadmap that becomes essential reading for any policymaker working with citizens and civil society to restore, protect, and integrate nature across all aspects of life.
When policymakers ask, "How can we better work with and support citizens?" — this roadmap will provide the answer.
Built from evidence, lived experience, and the first global stock-take on public perceptions of nature-based solutions.
Why this survey?
As far as we know, the last major public survey on nature-based solutions was in 2015, and it only captured European voices.
A decade later, we’re listening globally.
This survey offers the first updated worldwide snapshot of:
- How people engage with nature
- What barriers do communities face
- What support do they need
- How civil society groups already lead solutions, often under different names
The last global survey was nearly a decade ago. It's time to listen again, and this time, to the whole world.
What makes this survey different?
- Adaptive branching logic: you only see the questions relevant to you
- 4 - 12 minutes: short, plain language, jargon-free
- Anonymous: your privacy matters!
- Accessible: automatically matches your browser language
- Welcomes everyone: citizens, CSOs, educators, volunteers, organisers
