The European Environment Agency (EEA) has launched the 2026 edition of its annual photo competition, “Resilient by Nature”, inviting citizens across Europe to capture the relationship between nature, society and climate resilience.
The competition explores how ecosystems sustain life, respond to environmental pressures and recover through restoration and adaptation efforts. Participants can submit up to five photographs under three thematic categories: Harmony, Disruption and Renewal.
The initiative aims to highlight both the challenges facing Europe’s ecosystems and the growing role of nature-based solutions in strengthening resilience and supporting biodiversity recovery. Winning photographs will receive cash prizes and may be featured in EEA publications and communication activities.
Submissions are open until 10 August 2026 and participation is free of charge.
