The association is trying to attract local actors as members who often have good knowledge and ideas about potential areas that can be procured and converted.
Founding an association that has the goal to procure suitable land and spaces and to convert them into flower meadows and insect habitats. Focus of this association is the concrete action of procuring the spaces, surveying them with experts, making individual concepts, securing financing for the conversion and making sure it actually happens. The assiciation is taking Naturfelder Issum e.V. as a template.
The proGIreg living lab Dortmund team, lead by the South Westfalia University of Applied Sciences (SWUAS) in Soest ( Agricultural Department) is running a media campaign with interviews of experts on Youtube, amplified via social media channels and is offering public information events via Zoom.
Enhancing biodiversity by providing insect habitat and nourishment. As a secondary effect bird populations are expected to also go up. Flower meadows are a visually more interesting and attractive green infrastructure so that inhabitants of the neigbourhood also benefit from these activities.

Project partner Die Urbanisten e.V. and aquaponik manufaktur GmbH are collaborating to compile a blueprint for founding such an association. The availability of the blueprint is going to be publicly anounced and the blueprint is going to be available for free.
Public interest in this topic is high. Currently active actors in that area lack human power to facilitate a public discourse. The association that we are going to found aims to connect with these actors and to support them with realization and communication tasks.
The association members finance the activities with their fees, but more importantly are actively seeking sponsorships from individuals and companies.
Um die Artenvielfalt von Insekten zu erhalten, wird dringend mehr Lebensraum benötigt. Naturfelder e.V. wandelt Flächen, wie z.B. Ackerfläche in Lebensraum für Insekten um. Gemeinsam mit Gemeinde und Landwirten ersetzen wir Monokulturen durch bunte Blumenwiesen – wahre Wohlfühloasen für Insekten, Bienen und Kleintiere und schaffen so auch die Lebensgrundlage für Wildvögel.
Landwirte oder Gemeinde stellen hierbei ihre Flächen zur Verfügung auf die wir die Blühmischung aussäen. Im Fall einer Dürre sorgen wir auch für eine Notbewässerung. Zusätzlich zu den Blühpflanzen säen wir Futterstauden und errichten Insektenhotels auf den Flächen. Darüber hinaus bleiben die Felder unbehandelt und nur den Insekten überlassen und bieten Platz für ihren ungestörten Aufenthalt, Futter und Nistplätze.
