The City of Aalborg is proud to again be the host of the European Conference on Sustainable Cities & Towns from 1-3 October 2024. Following the ground-breaking Aalborg Charter (1994) and the Aalborg Commitments (2004) from the city's past times as host, the 10th conference in 2024 will be a not to be missed event!
We're excited to announce that the Call for Contributions for the 10th European Conference on Sustainable Cities & Towns is now open! For Aalborg2024 we're looking for Speed Presentations and Pitch Presentations to be showcased on Wednesday, 2 October 2024, from 14:00 - 15:30. This is your chance to be an active part of Aalborg2024, share your work, give advice, ask for feedback, and connect your ideas directly with leaders in sustainable urban development.
NetworkNature is excited to be partnering with the conference in bringing multiple sessions representing Horizon projects to the event.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for contributions that align with the conference goals. Some examples include:
- Best practices in sustainable urban development
- Projects involving stakeholder and citizen engagement
- Collaboration across different government levels
- Financing strategies for sustainable projects
- Community empowerment initiatives
- Effective climate communication
- Innovations in smart technologies and AI
- New tools and guidance for sustainable practices
- Ideas for upcoming tenders and project calls
Presentation Formats
Speed Presentation: You have 5 minutes to present your idea, project, initiative, or best practice. You can bring up to 20 image slides (no text!) that will move automatically behind you. So, 5 mins – 20 slides (max) – no clicker! Pitch Presentation: You have 5 minutes to present your idea, project, initiative, or best practice – but only one image slide! All presentations must be held in English. Presentation slides will have to be handed in in advance to the conference.
HOW TO APPLY

This conference is an opportunity to wee how Local Green Deals are making the EU Green Deal a reality across Europe: The conference will demonstrate the potential of local governments to shape a new sustainable urban reality, and how working with key partners and accommodating frameworks at multiple levels can be powerful enablers. Expect a fertile environment for tackling the most pressing questions, leading to discussions, knowledge-sharing and problem-solving. We hope will inspire and motivate participants to further develop connections made at all levels at the conference, and to put plans into practice, to realise an integrated response to the climate crisis.
