Webinar Soil management and Land planning, 24th of January 9:30 - 11:30 hrs CET (Zoom)

Soil health - webinar series
In 2025 SOILveR organizes a webinar series on the integration of Soil Health in decision-making processes at various scales. The stimulation of healthy soils, soil health assessment as well as sustainable soil management will be tackled.
The assessment and management of Soil health in relation to the proposal for a European Soil Monitoring framework directive raise a variety of questions:

•    The availability of soil health data,
•    Soil measurements to be taken,
•    Scale of analysis and decision,
•    Aggregate soil measurements and build an integrated soil health index,
•    Available tools to assess soil health,
•    Sustainable measures to preserve or restore soil health,
•    Technical and legal constraints for soil management, etc.

Questions related to stakeholders’ engagement and transformation challenges:

- How to raise awareness within your organization to put healthy soils on the agenda
and make it part of management processes and procedures,
- How to create partnerships with landowners and land users,
- How to bridge healthy soils with societal challenges depending on healthy soils (greening cities, climate adaptation, food security, healthy environment).

These questions will be investigated in three different contexts: (1) at a broad scale in relation to land planning and urban soil management, (2) at the project scale within the specific context of brownfield recycling, rural redevelopment and urban renewing, and (3) at the site scale in the context of the management of a contaminated or degraded site.

24th January 2025 Soil management and land planning
SOILVeR has found a number of renowned experts willing to give short presentations about their work. In a panel discussion they will be happy to engage in conversation with each other and the audience. There is plenty of room for questions and discussion in this webinar. You can submit all your questions in advance in the registration form. During the meeting, an online whiteboard will be available to give your comments, ideas and additions.  Register!
