This webinar is the first of a series of annual online events dedicated to NbS education , organised by the Horizon Europe project NbS EduWORLD.
NbS EduWORLD will gather from the first time stakeholders from the education sector and nature-based solutions (NbS) practitioners. This public event will gather a pan-European community of NbS practitioners, teachers, education experts, NGOs, representatives from Ministries of Education, EU institutions or other public authorities are warmly invited to join this online event.
This first event will focus on the topic of how to mainstream NbS education across all levels of education. It will be the opportunity to take stock and further discuss the first outcomes of the project regarding the benefits and current situation of NbS education. The NbS EduWORLD project partners will present their experience in Almada (Portugal), Offaly County (Ireland) and Paris (France) as demonstrators sites of NbS education. Participants will be able to learn from each other and share their views on how to mainstream NbS education across all levels of education.
The webinar will address the following key questions:
- Why do we need NbS education?
- What are the importance and the benefits of NbS education?
- What have we learned in the last year about good practices for education and NbS practitioners' collaboration?
- How can the NbS education community support the application of the four areas of the GreenComp (the European sustainability competence framework)?
