The Invest4Nature project invites you to an upcoming workshop to test a new decision support toolbox for investment decision making in NbS.
The tool has relevance to many types of organisation, including Nature-based Enterprises, as it allows users to build a business case around a particular nature-based solution in terms of its benefits/ecosystem services.
It's also relevant to NbS projects and municipalities as it facilitates an assessment of the cost-benefits/cost-effectiveness of a variation of nature-based solutions, as well as supporting users to identify solutions best suited to addressing a particular environmental challenge faced by a city/region.
The workshop will take place online on Monday 1st December from 10.30 to 12.00 (CET). The agenda for 1.5 hours is as follows:
- An introduction to the Invest4Nature project and the Decision Support Toolbox.
- A live walkthrough of the toolbox which comprises three tools (performance assessment tool, the recommender tool and the cost-benefit analysis tool).
- Q&A
- Interactive exercise on one of the tools.
- Feedback.
- Exchange of ideas and project outputs.
We would like to offer some time towards the end of the agenda to hear from you regarding your project outputs, tools and activities, and whether you might see complementarities between your work and that of the DS toolbox.
Some more details about the tool.
The toolbox has been created by the Horizon Europe project Invest4Nature. The aim of this project is to prepare the grounds for investments in Nature-based Solutions by evaluating its benefits and economic performance. The toolbox was developed to aid effective investment decision making around NbS. This is the second round of testing and please note that there may be features that require fine-tuning and data that may still need to be integrated into the system.
The toolbox comprises three tools: the Cost–Benefit Analyser, Performance Assessment Tool, and Recommender Tool. The target audience for the cost-benefit analysis tool includes Urban and consultancy agencies/planners; companies working with biodiversity; Nature-Based Enterprises and professional users. It helps to have an economic/financial background when using this tool. Whereas the Performance Assessment tool and Recommender can be used by non-professional users.
Whilst the tool is still undergoing development, we will keep this to a closed, registration only event.
Please email Martina Brophy at martina.brophy@horizonnua.eu to register your interest by Thursday 27th of November at the latest.
You will need to register to a) receive an invite to the online workshop and b) receive the link to register for the DS toolbox.
As a token of our appreciation, we will plant a tree through HomeTree for every participant of the workshop on 1st of December.
